How to choose a Better Place Forests Memorial

Are you interested in learning about Better Place Forests for your family but don’t really know where to start?

That’s alright! We’ve created this short article to help you understand the key considerations you need to make for your family memorial.

What exactly is a Better Place Forests Memorial?

And that’s a great question! When you reserve a Memorial Tree with Better Place Forests, you are reserving a tree exclusively for you and your family that you can spread your ashes around.

Our Memorial Forests are protected forests with pathways, benches and trees conserved exclusively for families to spread ashes around.

There is an engraved Memorial Marker placed at the base of each family’s tree. Our forest is privately owned, cared for, and maintained.

The forest has parking, bathrooms, trails, benches and Forest Guides to find your tree. It’s our goal to create an exceptional visitor experience.

Where are the Memorial Forests?

We have nine Memorial Forests across the US:

California:

Better Place Forests Point Arena

Better Place Forests Santa Cruz

Better Place Forests Yosemite Gateway

Better Place Forests Lake Arrowhead

Southwest:

Better Place Forests Flagstaff, Arizona

Midwest:

Better Place Forests Rock River, Illinois

Better Place Forests St. Croix Valley, Minnesota

Northeast:

Better Place Forests Berkshires, Massachusetts

Better Place Forests Litchfield Hills, Connecticut

How much does a Memorial Tree cost?

Our prices vary by forest location. Memorial Trees start at $4,900, or $122/month on a payment plan.

A Better Place Forests Memorial offers you personal choice. You may include just yourself or your entire family. You may also include your pets!

There are several questions you can ask yourself now to best understand your options. They are:

Who would you like to reserve a tree for?

Just yourself?

A Keepsake Tree is our most popular size. Small and mighty, these Memorial Trees have lots of room for growth.

You and your spouse?

A Legacy Tree is our most popular size all around, often chosen by couples. You can always add spreading rights as your family grows. Also, you can also have your pets’ ashes scattered here too!

Your whole family?

Monument Trees are larger and have lots of space for gathering and ample space around them. You can always add more spreading rights for additional family members (including pets) as needed.

How accessible would you like your tree to be?

We have Memorial Trees that are accessible via a UTV, as well as trees that are deeper in the forest and require a hike.

Your Forest Guide can help you find the perfect fit for you and your family.
